David De Mata – BIO

David De Mata is a musician, singer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work bridges performance, production, and sound design. Winner of the Argentine Recording Competition organized by the Audio Engineering Society (AES), he was selected among hundreds of applicants and recognized by a jury of Grammy Award–winning producers including Rafael Arcaute, Tweety González, Nico Kalwill and Andrés Mayo among others.

Throughout his career, De Mata has shared the stage and line-up with prominent Latin American artists such as Pedro Aznar, David Lebón, Juanchi Baleirón, Marciano Cantero, Gillespi, Enanitos Verdes, Emmanuel Horvilleur and Eruca Sativa, among others.

He has performed and sung for audiences exceeding 20,000 people, including the official tribute to Gustavo Cerati and Argentina’s National Harvest Festival (Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia), where he participated in three editions broadcast live nationwide on open television. Also, the official presentation of his second album at Wine Rock was broadcast live by Vorterix, Argentina’s leading streaming channel.

His extensive experience as both performer and producer extends to numerous large-scale symphonic projects, collaborating with the UNCuyo Symphony Orchestra as soloist singer, electronic section producer, and instrumental performer.

He has taken part in productions such as Four Seasons Recomposed, Avengers Symphonic, Fito Páez Symphonic, and served as band director in Queen Symphonic and Women of Pop – Symphonic (Orquesta Barroca, Magical Mystery Orchestra, Orquesta Pianoforte) among others — merging orchestral music with contemporary performance and technology.

De Mata is also the artistic producer and orchestral arranger of The Beatles: A Symphonic Journey, a major concert experience featuring his original arrangements and musical direction.

As Head of Sound and Production at Monteviejo and Art Department (Clos de los Siete, Argentina), he oversaw events such as the Wine Rock Tour, working alongside artists including Deborah Dixon, Felipe Staiti, Vanthra, Coti Sorokin, Fernando Ruiz Díaz, and Turf. His work also includes sound installations for contemporary art spaces, music branding for television, and production for digital releases.

As a solo artist, De Mata has released two albums — Efecto Movimiento and Absoluto Instinto — and leads DeMT_, an experimental project exploring the intersection between electronic music, acoustic performance, and immersive sound environments.

He produced the official presentation of his debut album Efecto Movimiento using an immersive quadraphonic sound system with synchronized projections, earning him the distinction of “Outstanding Cultural Figure of the Year” by Fundación UNO Medios. His second album, Absoluto Instinto, was nominated for Best Male Artist Album at the Premios Escenario.

His work has been referenced by authors and researchers in publications such as "Trazas" (ASEP) and "Más canciones del Rock de Mendoza" by Walter Gazzo, recognizing his contribution to the contemporary Argentine music scene.

His formal training includes multiple professional specializations from Berklee College of Music’s Continuing Education Division, focused on music production and technology. He also completed advanced courses with the endorsement of AES Argentina, Universidad de Mendoza, and Universidad Tres de Febrero, covering topics such as psychoacoustics, acoustics, and live sound engineering — strengthening both his technical expertise and artistic approach to contemporary music production. He was invited by Universidad de Palermo (Buenos Aires) to lecture on immersive audio and new technologies at the Tendencias Congress organized by the Faculty of Art and Design.

David De Mata continues developing his artistic and technical work as a vocal coach, music producer, and arranger under his production label DeMT_ Works, combining experience, creativity, and a forward-thinking approach to sound and performance.
